Brief History of the LWF
Seven years ago, a local professional wrestling promotion opened up in Toronto, calling itself Legendary Wrestling Federation. With the signing of a few hot local wrestlers, the LWF quickly became known for putting on stellar matches, selling out their local house shows every week. Five years into their successful local run, the LWF started putting these matches on DVDs and selling them online. Much to their surprise, they were a worldwide hit, and gained a cult following across the world. This attracted the attention of The Two. Posessing a seemingly endless source of funds, they purchased the company and completely overhauled it, leaving little but only the best of the best the LWF had posessed, and creating the revolutionary Infamy Stadium, capable of switching out rings mechanically. Two years later, at the height of one of their pay-per-views, The Two made a controversial decision, vacating all of the titles and firing nearly half of the roster. Now, the only thing that's certain about the future, is that there will be complete chaos.
FAQs
Q: I've filled out the Character Application and sent it in, but I haven't heard anything back from an administrator in a while. What should I do?
A: First of all, relax. We're not ignoring you, however we do have lives outside of the forums (and so should you XD). We will usually get back to you within five days after you send in the application. But, if not, then resend it. Also, if you know us personally, then get in touch with one of us and let us know you've sent an application if you don't hear from us within the five days.
Q: Am I allowed to base my character(s) on real people?
A: The simple answer is yes. You most likely know people who have the personality for wrestling, or something about them makes a great gimmick, and we encourage all sorts of creativity when coming up with a character. However, please refrain from basing your character on real-life wrestlers. If we see an application with the character of Hulk Hogan or John Cena, we will immediately reject it, and we will politely ask you to redo your entire application.
Q: Can I submit more than one wrestler?
A: Yes and no. Until the federation recruits enough people, please only have one wrestler at a time. When enough people join, then you may submit another application for a second wrestler. This is to ensure that you don't have to be in a match against yourself.
Q: Can I alternate between styles of roleplaying?
A: Although it's not required, we do encourage alternating between promos and short stories. If possible, try to do at least one of each per week. It allows you to become more creative by switching it up occasionally, rather than sticking with one style throughout. However, if your character isn't the type to stand in front of the camera, whether it be due to a gimmick or just his personality, then we don't expect any promos from you. =)
Q: I don't really know many wrestling moves. Is that a problem?
A: Not really, no. You can brush up on your knowledge of wrestling moves by checking out the moves list thread on the forums.
Q: I'm having trouble coming up with a good catchy name for my character. Any suggestions?
A: The name of your character should be one of the last things you fill out on the application. Create your character first; complete the character biography, history, etc. first, and then the name will just fall into place. However, if you've done all of that and are still stuck for a name, then send in the application and let us know that you don't have a name for your character, and we'll come up with one for you.
Q: I can't think of a good finisher. Can you help me?
A: Of course. Again, send in your application and let us know you don't have a finisher, and we'll do our best to create a good one for you.
Q: Your deadline is in Newfoundland Standard Time, but I'm not from Newfoundland, what time is the deadline for me?
A: The deadlines are very lenient. We give an hour or two leeway with consideration toward the players time differences, personal lives and so on. However if you're one of those people who do not like leaving things to indefinite factors such as how kind we feel like being about the deadline leeway, you can go HERE to check the time in your own timezone. Remember, deadlines are in NST, found at the link as Canada/Newfoundland.
That's all for now. Check back often, as more questions will be added in the future.
